Portland + Oregon Sustainability Institute

Oregon is a hotbed of sustainability that includes leading-edge academic research, innovative nonprofits, a burgeoning community of sustainable industries, and supportive government. The Portland + Oregon Sustainability Institute (P+OSI) is being created to leverage the regionís leadership in order to move more quickly at scale to enhance livability and broaden Oregon's global sustainability leadership.

In partnership with key sustainability leadership organizations including the City of Portland, Metro, Portland Development Commission, Oregon University System, and others, P+OSI is launching four catalytic initiatives in 2009 ñ Ecodistricts, Oregon Sustainability Center, Oregon Sustainable Economy Network and Portland Region Climate Prosperity Project to drive innovation at the intersection of urban development, economic development, and climate policy.
